Gooooood Morning World!!!
Good morning… Good Morning… Assalam-o-Alaikum World! ;)
A very happy and (partially) cloudy morning to all you lovely people from the Isloo Realm!
PS: No it isn’t a sunset. Blame it on the clouds and my Nokia 6600’s camera!
So… December 1! This year is almost coming to its end and pretty soon, we’d all be walking into 2006 (Fifa and Cricket World cup gets nearer! Woohoo!) Speaking of Dec 1, I hope you all are aware that today is the AIDS Awareness Day as well. So if you can, please do wear the red ribbon and do or atleast think about all those who are suffering from this disease today. Just to give an idea, According to UNAIDS estimates, there are 38 million adults and 2.3 million children living with HIV, and during 2005 some 4.9 million people became newly infected with the virus. Around half of all people who become infected with HIV do so before they are 25 and are killed by AIDS before they are 35. In Pakistan alone, 70,000 to 80,000 people are currently estimated to be HIV positive, with a 0.1 percent prevalence rate. Out of these, 2,300 cases were registered with the Pakistan AIDS Control Programme up to September 2004, a Family Planning Association of Pakistan report revealed.
Think about it.
