Austria to help Pak expand PhD programmes

Austria would help Pakistan to expand its Ph.D programmes being initiated for faculty development of the universities.
For the purpose, around 100 Pakistani students would be sent annually to the top class Austrian universities for MS and Ph.D leading studies in engineering, science, technology, social sciences, economics and business administration etc.

This point was discussed during a meeting between a six-member delegation from Austria and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Science and Technology and Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman here on Tuesday.It was also agreed to initiate a major post-doctoral training programme as well as linkage programme with top university departments in Austria with those in Pakistan.
