World’s Largest Letter

Not about islamabad, but a girl from India posted a link about this World’s Largest Letter on my blog … Have a read about it here.

Some sharings are:

The “World’s Largest Love Letter” is huge. Bigger than a football field, it measures 240 by 360 feet (73 by 110 meters). It’s so big that we actually had trouble fitting it into the enormous Chinnaswamy Stadium and had to leave some of it off.

The text of the letter is written in Urdu, English and Hindi, and says:

Dear Children of Pakistan,
Let’s join hearts in friendship. Together we can make a better world.
-The Children of India

The letter, made of tarpaulin, was the design of many people and involved dozens of children in its painting. After it is delivered in Pakistan, the 86,400 square feet of the body of the letter will be cut into 551 – 12 ft. by 12 ft. squares, which will be delivered to the recent earthquake-affected areas, for use in shelter construction.

Around the body of the letter are 196 smaller pieces which make-up the border, and which bear the names and addresses of Indian schools and the signatures of thousands of children. These will be delivered to Pakistani schools to establish school-to-school relationships.

The letter will continue to be worked on as it travels to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and up to Amritsar. As it proceeds, it will also continue gathering signatures from thousands of kids.

We expect it to be awarded top prize for largest card by both Guinness World Records and Limca Book of Records.

We respect their emotions :-)
