CDA approves 5 projects

Capital Development Authority (CDA) in its Board meeting has approved five projects to be executed cost of Rs581 million, an official said here Wednesday.

He told Pakistan Observer that CDA have approved the projects of underpass at Kulsoom Plaza, shifting of Sunday Bazaar, establishment of Nephrology Department at Capital Hospital, Construction of Entrance at Pak Secretariat and construction of playgrounds.

Official said CDA is trying to start the work of underpass within one month as it has hired the services of a firm for construction of the underpass. The construction will be started in March this year and will take 6 months to complete, he said.

CDA intended to construct underpasses at Polyclinic and Citi Bank Chowk also. These will be approved in the upcoming meeting, the official added.

CDA has approved the shifting of G-9 Sunday Bazaar that will be relocated in sector H-9/3 and will be functional within a few months.

Authority will start replacing of cricket grounds being affected due to the widening of 9th and 7th avenue in the city. Modern facilities will be provided there, said the official.

The grounds will be developed at a cost of Rs51.6 million. The grounds will be developed in sector F-6/1, H-8/2 and at Shalimar Cricket Ground.
