PAKSAT selected for satellite news

PAKSAT International announced Tuesday that Independent Media Corporation the leading TV broadcaster in Pakistan and owner of GEO TV has signed an agreement for lease of C and Ku band capacity on PAKSAT-1 for its Digital Satellite News Gathering requirements.

“We chose PAKSAT-1 after extensive evaluation of satellite performance. The agreement with PAKSAT will provide us complete coverage of Pakistan enabling us to provide international quality live coverage of events”, said Mr Javad Goraya, Group Director Technology. GEO TV will use PAKSAT-1 to uplink live feeds from its C and Ku band DSNG platforms.

PAKSAT is providing internet and data connectivity, TV broadcasting video contribution and satellite news gathering services in C and Ku band to private and public sector customers using PAKSAT-1 satellite at 38 degrees East. PAKSAT-1 provides coverage in South Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe.
