Bird Flu

Country has been kept on a high alert due to danger of spread of Bird Flu in Pakistan. Sources reveal that Ministry of Food and Agriculture are taking pragmatic measures on emergency basis because of spread of Bird flu in the country especially after the cases that have occurred in Iran and India.
Sources further added that a restriction has been imposed on import of poultry products from India and Iran in the wake of bird flu.

Flag Rules

The Interior Ministry has asked all the ministries, divisions, public and private sector to follow Pakistan Flag Rules in letter and spirit, said a ministry spokesman.

According to a notification the flag should be flown on all public and private buildings throughout the country on Pakistan Day (March 23), Independence Day (August 14), Quaid-e-Azam birthday (December 25) and such other days as notified by the government.

The national flag should be flown on all working days on the government buildings, it says.

Highly alert Islamabad

Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) have been summoned in Islamabad last night for stopping protest rally announced by Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal today, Army has been kept in reserve.

FC squads started patrolling in different areas of Islamabad last night. Arrangements have been made to meet any emergency situation.

A comprehensive strategy had been chalked out in a high level meeting in Islamabad to meet any untoward incident. The meeting decided that in any condition no one would be allowed to damage public and private property and citizens’ lives and protected at any cost.

Several points have been determined to stop the rally from where the rally would not be allowed to proceed further more.

Several MMA leaders and workers had been arrested in a nightlong operation in various localities. Federal Interior Minister confirmed arrest of 25 to 26 MMA people.

19 Feb Bans!

Assalam o alaykum w.w.!

Here in the city, at the moment there’s a mixed feeling … one of the political party,Jamaat e Islami, has given a call for rallies … which could end up as the recent violent rallies in Pakistan, to protest against caricatures drawn in many European countries.

While the govt. has home-prisoned the chief of JI … and is trying their best to ban this 19 feb rally …!

So, time will tell that what happens this morning …!

Hoping the best … I don’t want the burnings and destruction in my city at all!

The blossoming red flowers herald the arrival of early spring in the capital.

PR to launch train service from Pindi to Hawalian

Pakistan Railways has decided to launch new train service from Rawalpindi to Hawalian on unremitting demand of masses.
The train will start its journey at 6:30am from Rawalpindi and arrive in Hawalian at 9:05am.
On the other hand, the train will stop over in Golra Sharif, Sang Jani, Taxila, Mohra Shah Wali, Usman Kharar, Kot Najeeb Ullah, Haripur, Sarai Saleh, and Baldhir stations.
Meanwhile Hazara Express will run from Hawalian to Karachi on its regular timings.

Denmark closes embassy in Islamabad

Denmark embassy in Islamabad was closed for unspecified period Friday and German Embassy was handling consular activities for Danes in Pakistan.

Denmark said Friday it has temporarily closed its embassy in Pakistan following violent protests over sacrilegious caricatures.

“Our staff are still in the country but not at the embassy in Islamabad,’ foreign ministry in Copenhagen said.

Denmark last week temporarily closed its embassies in Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Indonesia, after anti-Danish protests and threats against staff.

The Foreign Ministry said the German Embassy in Islamabad was handling consular activities for Danes in Pakistan.

Pindi- 3 new taxes

Administration of Rawal Town has decided to impose three taxes on all shops, houses and Plazas in the city to increase its annual income.

The three taxes include lighting tax, cleanliness tax and shop setting license tax. It merit mentioning that Ex-tehsil house had rejected the cleanliness tax.

The implementation on imposition of these taxes would be started in March. The masses of the Rawalpindi would also pay the bill of streetlights beside domestic electricity bill.

Likewise, the shopkeepers of Rawalpindi would pay the license tax while commercial cleanliness tax is Rs. 600.

Supreme court and blocking website approach

Supreme court has been moved to order Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to take steps for stopping display of website carrying blasphemous caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The apex court has been approached by a citizen Dr Nasir Ali through a writ petition Wednesday. Malik Qamar Afzal, additional secretary Supreme Court Bar Association will appear on behalf of the applicant in the Supreme Court. The petitioner has taken the stance in its writ that US net companies have made the publication of blasphemous drawings source of income and released its website. It is mentioned beneath the site that it be lent financial support as it involves concern for the protection of Denmark.
The blasphemous cartoons have been released on the internet.
