Only capital without a cinema

Guys i was reading in gulf times that Pakistan is the only country in the civilised world which does not have a cinema house in the capital city. Islamabad citizens have to go Rawalpindi to watch a movie on the big screen, which has more than 10 cinemas including Ciros, Capital, Gulistan, Shabistan, Naz, Plaza and Odeon.

The two state-owned cinema houses, NEFDEC-I and NEFDEC-II, recently ceased operations after facing financial losses.

The cinemas were established by the Culture Ministry to promote the film industry of Pakistan. After the closure of NEFDEC I and II, Melody Cinema was the only remaining cinema house in town.

Unfortunately, the cinema was set on fire by an angry mob on October 6, 2003.
