Wide spread Rain predicted

Met office on Sunday forecast widespread rain with snow over high mountains of the country during the next three days.

The upper parts of country are in the grip of a westerly-wave, which is likely to give isolated rain on Monday.

This westerly wave will follow by another strong wave expected to approach Balochistan on Tuesday leading to widespread rain in the country, including Sindh.

Partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain and thunder is expected in the federal capital as well as in the Northern Areas on Monday.

Lowest temperature of -3 degrees centigrade was recorded at Babusir on Sunday.

Minimum temperature in other cities was: Islamabad 8 C, Lahore 12 C, Karachi 20 C, Peshawar 11 C, Quetta 10 C, Gilgit 05 C, Muzaffarabad 10 C, Multan 13 C, Faisalabad 12 C and Murree 4 C.

The spokesman said the “barani” and irrigated areas of the country are expected to receive good rains during next two to three days so the farmers are advised to take precautionary measures regarding the crops accordingly.

The rain may be accompanied by high winds/thundershowers and isolated hailstorm due to high temperatures contrast.

Scattered rain and thundershowers are also predicted for the coastal areas accompanied by high-winds.–APP
