Final notices to 150 schools
apital Development Authority (CDA) has issued final notices to 150 schools in Federal Capital Islamabad warning them of their closure in case of their failure to submit safety clearance certificates to the Authority till March 18. The buildings of about 350 schools functioning in Islamabad had got damaged. CDA asked their management to repair the damages and get their buildings cleared by the inspection committees constituted by the Authority.
Later, CDA, pertaining to the lack of manpower and equipment, issued the names of reputed engineering firms and asked the school management to get clearance by those firms.
More than 250 schools have submitted their clearance certificates while the rest are not taking the matter seriously.
Even after the period of four months, the managements of about 150 defaulting schools, ignore CDA’s directive.
CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari accelerated the process after the Federal Relief Commissioner in a meeting directed the Authority to ensure the clearance of damaged schools without any delay.
