Islamabad loosing its Beauty ~ Greenery ~ Reasons?

The tree uprooting process started in Islamabad today … Reason: yeah the same ALL-FAMOUS roads making … roads expansions projects.

These road expansion projects that started in late year 2005 and still only one G-10 road is completed … I mean doubled … costs Islamabad its Beauty … !

Islamabad is a city famous for its beauty; that does not come artificially. It’s all natural, the greenery, beautiful tress (especially the ones that can be found in F-7/2 in autumn season, the scene looks marvelous with yellow and red coloured leaves falling), and natural beds of wild flowers in spring and yeah, how could I forget the lovely green mountains surrounding the city …!

So loosing all this makes me really angry. CDA insists that in master plan of Islamabad, double roads were present … but then in Islamabad’s master plan green belts between the sectors were also present. Should I assume that plan was to cut the wide green belts in small pieces by making the roads around them doubled???

For last 5 years, with the arrival of new banks and their loaning and leasing schemes that let people own cars in easy installments (another debatable point :/ ), the problem started. Many cities in civilized world are trying hard to cater this problem, of having more cars and less space for them to drive on, by imposing high parking taxes or even more by not allowing you to buy cars unless some space is vacated. Though later condition can’t be imposed here, people don’t ask authorities if they want to buy a car, secondly even our authorities allow cars having AFR 2006(applied for registration) number-plated cars to drive in city roads.

Badly in need to have some help!
