Thirteen-month-old Leo, a male snow leopard found by a shepherd in the Nalter valley of Northern Areas in July last year, is on its way to the Bronx Zoo in New York to take part in a captive breeding programme.

The snow leopard has been listed as ?endangered? on International Union for Conservation of Nature’s global Red List of Threatened Species, and as ?critically endangered? on the Pakistan Red List.

Construction work is underway on the Centaurus five-star hotel — involving an investment of Rs12 billion — in the Federal Capital..

Pak Gulf Construction , a consortium of Al Tamimi Group of Saudi Arabia and Sardar Builders from Pakistan, will jointly carry out the project. The project includes a 38-storey five-star hotel, three towers of services apartments and a big shopping mall .

Last year, a piece of land in Blue Area was allotted by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to the company for the project. The project is due for completion in 2008.
