Priced Iftar – Chinese Style Meals

Serious Advice: If you want good Chinese food, by all means go to Wang Fu in Blue Area. Just one caution, do not go there just as the calls echo for Iftar. The over-inflated rates for a glass of rooh afza, a plate of cooling pakoras and a mish mash that passes of as fruit chart will make your mouth drop open. Imagine paying 30 rupees for a 200 ml glass of rooh afza.

However, for a dinner and for lunch once Ramadan is over, the restaurant is a reasonable choice with well-cooked food and healthy servings. A family of four could eat a 3 course meal with 4 dishes in under Rs. 1500 which in this day and age is not bad at all. The soups are good, usually thick and meaty and served steaming hot which is a comfort zone on its own when one is hungry. The main courses cover a wide range of poultry (Chicken and Duck) as well as fish and beef. Options are available for various rice and noodle dishes that do more or less echo the menus of Chinese restaurants all over the city.

The difference however does lie in the value for money that one gets. The seating halls are comfortable, divided into 2 zones on the main floor with comfortable seating arrangements. The servings are plentiful and the service itself is not too slow. The specials in both beef and soup are interesting flavors upped with trasitional chinese ingredients such as bamboo shoots, and sesame seeds.

So, if you’re looking for a Chinese style meal that doesn’t leave you feeling half empty, by all means consider Wang Fu as an option to satisy your palette.. The food is actually good!

You should also try out Kin Mun in F-7 markaz opposite to Pizza Hut. You simply cannot miss it. It is owned by a chinese couple. They have a good serving and the taste is excellent. I often walk to that place in the evening to try out their delicious Won Ton soup. Heck that reminds me I should do it onnce again tonight…:-D They have dishes ranging from bean curd to ducks!! Price isn’t that bad either. On my recommendation, go for it..:-) Your friends won’t be dissappointed.
