We are aliens! Are we?

People all over the world have a misconception about the Asians, especially about the south Asians, and more specifically about the Pakistanis. People think that all possible wrong doings which can be done are happening in Pakistan or if it is happening in some other part of the world it is done by the Pakistanis, as if they have a contract with the devil to do all the wrong doings.

I think that in few cases we are…are we? I do not know so let us examine the situation.

As per definition, aliens are those who are new to the human being’s eye, who have odd behaviors and have their own philosophy of life…am I right? Therefore, if this definition is right then it means that we all are aliens because everyone has his own philosophy of life, everyone has different behaviors and everyone is a stranger in this world.

I am not trying to convince you that this part of world is a piece of heaven. No not at all! However, what I want to tell is that they are not the only one who are to be accused, or even if there are few, it does not gave us the right to beat the whole nation with the same stick. We surely understand this concept in the west, as the law enforcement agencies do not arrest a mother for son’s crime or a brother for sisters. Every man’s actions stands for himself.

Some time I am amazed by the fact that whenever the western world is looking for a terrorist he is from Pakistan or is suspected to be hiding in Pakistan. Moreover, I wonder that why these terrorists like this country and love to live in it after messing up with the world. Terrorist’s main purpose, after doing some nasty things, is to hide in a place where they cannot be found. Therefore, for this purpose they should hide in America, china or India because these are the largest places on earth where no one can be found…alive or dead!

World thinks that few things that can recognize a terrorist are: he has a beard but without moustache, he must be wearing a turban, wearing a shalwar kameez. Woo…..calm down people. These things are Pakistan’s national dress. What do you want? You want them to be naked. They would love to but it’s too cold and hot there whole year.

The main reason of known as a terrorist community is that, we do not have the tolerance of facing the reality. Moreover, all this is because of illiteracy and less information about their religion and the duties of being a good citizen. The question arise here is who will tell this to them? No one but they have to do it by him or herself.

Foreign countries are prejudice in this matter too. They only think of Pakistani people, especially Muslims as worthless humans who are born terrorist with no moral values. Those who do not think like that do not speak of it. May be they do, but we do not know that there are people who have feelings for us. That is called lack of communication.

We think that we Muslims are the chosen one to tell the world what is right or wrong but in reality we ourselves do not know what is right or wrong. As a human, to me it seems common sense that we should make ourselves better before pointing fingers at others. It goes for those who point fingers at Muslims or other religion, no religion teaches the slaughtering of innocent human beings.

At times, when there is a need to think and act, we just resign and leave all the thinking and action to God. Afterwards, when something goes wrong, we blame him for what happens to us. God never gave his work to us, did he?

Pakistani people are confused and stuck in between eastern and western worlds. We do not know what to do and how to do it. Every day we see a lifestyle, through media and movies, where only a casual picture of life is presented. This smoke screen, when compared with our own lives, makes western life more interesting and throws us in to confusion and frustration.

It is not that western world is a box of candy but they represent it in a way that shows like living in a utopia. What Pakistani people show, is frustration, fights, humiliation and bad customs of life. Pakistani people are not presenting their country in a good way. This is where they are falling behind. It gives a bad impression to the world about us. I do not want to be rude but that is what truth is. We should be proud of what we are and should not hesitate in showing that to the world.

Every one has the right to live a better life, and when it seemed too difficult, we go for the wrong ways and become terrorists. There are no certain rules to live a life, who ever get a chance grabs all the facilities and left other people abandoned.

People go from Pakistan to abroad, are being humiliated because of their society and misconceptions about them. To hide their humiliation, as they do not know what to do, they start hiding what they are, in real. That is where they take the wrong step, instead of taking their self one-step ahead and make them clear to the world that not everyone of them is a terrorist, they start doing wrong things in their frustration. Which later change in to aggression and make the world believe that they were right about them.

There are certain rules to follow, to become a better human being. we cannot change our personality but at least try to make it better. To change ourselves, that is what God has asked us to do, we should bring changes within ourselves according to the change in our surroundings.

You know I am also a part of it and also ashamed of what I had done but I have learned from it. Doing wrong is not a bad thing until we do not learn from it, the reality

We have to do some thing before its too late for anything. We have to be open-minded, clear our concepts about our religion, why we are here o this earth, what are our responsibilities. By doing that all of our concepts will be cleared. We have to let other’s live their lives. We have to let our nation find its own way to the path of prosperity and success.

We cannot succeed in life, especially in today’s fast moving life until we cooperate with each other and listen to each other’s view. We have to start respecting each other, does not mater if our opponent is a Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Hindu, Buddha or non-believers. Just believe in yourself and be a good citizen, a good nation and a great one world.

See how easy it is to tell people what to do and how to do. However, the most difficult thing is to do it practically and that is what all of us have to do. The need is to take first step and may be one of us has already taken a step towards the success. If not than just do it. It is never too late.
May god bless us all!

    The usual denial of own faults and misrepresentation of facts re: others etc etc in this article but ignoring that, consider this;

Pakistanis blow bombs in west, excuse is Iraq and Afghanistan. There are plenty of Iraqis and Afghanis in the west but none considers it appropriate. What is wrong here? Obviously Pakistanis are more radicalised than any other. This over radicalisation also plays part in supporting terrorist and providing them hiding places and logistical support which terrorists will not find in US, China or India.

What does this long-a$$ essay have to do with Islamabad. I thought this blog was supposed to be about the events and happenings in Islamabad.

But, you’ve made it into a soapbox for your personal ramblings.

Reading my comment again I can see my first para was a little (!) unfair and generalised as the article did try to see various sides. I would hereby like to retract the first part of my comment and apologise for it.

I stand by second part however.

I don’t agree with Asif’s comment, just because a person is taking the time out to talk about and create awareness.Comments like yours only show how insecure we feel if someone is trying to talk about an issue facing Muslims or Islam. And please don’t say you feel secure and are a proud Muslim because if you were you would have realized a fact that this article was about Muslims and Islamabad (like it or not) is a capital of an Islamic Republic and this topic should be a cause of concern for all Muslims and on the other note “Muslim Extremist” go and kill 3000 while in return “The Free & Civilized” destroy 2 countries and kill over 100k (no body know how many and if we say its high than they say we are just cheats and liers and they are saints)
