Review – Munchies

Another review of another eat out hangout. Munchies is the type of informal eat out you would goto when out with the gang. Located in Super, it kind of has the friendly feel of boat basin food court (back home). The seating is fun, with stairs full of people all the way back to a campus type seating area (complete with stone tables and blocks to sit on).

Being chand raat, the place was quite full, and even at midnight it was quite hard to get a decent table there. Being short on time, we ordered what was considered the safest menu items. Afterall, how many people could bung up a chicken cheese burger….

Answer… munchies!!! And not only the burger, but also the poor substitute of a chicken roll paratha! Coming from karachi, having grown up with the likes of Chips, Mr Burger, Hot and Spicy and Roll In, we decided Muchies still has a great deal to learn as far as the art of preparing fast food is concerned.

Oh.. and did i mention the over priciness? (this will be a recurring theme in my restaurant review posts, so bear with me). A chicken chese burger, with literally 5 fries and two spoons of coleslaw costs about Rs. 65, and one paratha, with four boti’s (no chutney either) costs a WHOPPING Rs. 60 as well!!

On the flip side however, the waiters were atleast better, with serviing time being less than 5 minutes. And the crowd was not bad either, with no obsenities or ill behaviour witnessed for the duration of the meal.
