While Going Offroad

hike.gifRecently I got an email from a a hiker from UK who wanted to suggest some tracks in the Margallas. I was pleasently surprized to see the expats’ interest in hiking and bush walking, sometimes even on their own. I would however recommend not to venture out solo on your own, because you might get mugged or robbed especially if you don’t look from around.

It’s always recommended to travel in a group of two at least. Happy exploring!

There’s a track at the back of my sector[E-7] that leads to Daman-e-koh….beautiful track. It’s better than trecking to Pir Suhawa via trail number 3. Atleast in my opinion :).

Nosheen, I guess you “brain stormed” at just the right time.

We have a hike this Sunday to a beautiful view point on the second ridge of Margallas from where you can see the Khanpur lake to your right and Rawal lake to the left, and it’s realitively an easy hike. We will be going in a group of 10-15 people, including expat families in numbers ranging from 10-15, so you are most welcome. Let me know if you need additional details.

I try to go everytime there’s sunshine and I’m at home.

What a better way to be nashukra to Allah SWT than to be in Islamabad and not explore margallahs.

I’m sure Oscar Wilde would call it heaven :).

We use to hike these beautiful green Margalla, starts early morning in winter\summer, we boys 8 to 10 in numbers starts climbing behind the Faisal Mosque and ends till the top comes.

While on a walk we face tons of problems such as thick bushes which are realy hard to go throug so we had to make our own way chop them or crawl, while crawling the only danger Enemy was BUSHES, those can really cut off your skins, face can be hurt badly or if you are wearing T shirt than you will get in really big trouble.

Those green bushes looks beautiful from far but if you into them than you will find out how beautiful they are lets call them BOLD, BEAUTIFUL & SHARP, some killer.

Killer, well yeah, we faced these friends while tracking, Snakes, lots of jackals, pigs, huge spiders, a monkey and some of them could not recognized because those were so fast to run that your eyes cant catch them.

In our luggage we had big bags, those bags had eemm lots of goddies e.g Cokes, Biscuits, Tikkas Stuff, Roties, Tea/Coffee Stuff, rops and other safety stuff well do not forget Music yarr and of course we had bad singers with loud heart broken voices he he he,

Well I guess I have to leave ya all here beacause I might making you bore,,, But when ever we climbed those mountain we had FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN, so “Yarro” people for this kind of trip always check your gear, safety kit and never wear your good cloths always wear some rough tight geans and solid cotton Shirt, Never wear leather jackets because mine was teared : (.

    Well Tired to write …eemm

No offense WK, but hiking in jeans is the worse thing to do. It is always recommended to use khakhis, shorts, or some comfortable troussers. I don’t mean to contradict or refute anyone, and just want to ensure people get the correct information. For more details check out http://www.abc-of-hiking.com/
