Thou Shalt Rest … peacefully??

Graves are everywhere

Though, Islamabad IS known to be a city of DEAD (atleast by Lahoris or Karachittes) and we’ve refuted the claim again and again … but i’ve to say sadly, it’s not entirely untrue, With living beings in abundance you can see some dead on the road too, sometimes …!

Like most of the other cities in Pakistan, seldom but still existent, YES you can see graves at few such points in Isloo too …. as the image here depicts!

Resting in peace in the median of the road that separates sub-sectors 3 and 4 of G-11 as the city and its noises grow around it becomes the destiny of people burried inside … You can see such graves in F-8 and guess what around presidency area too … just in front of PTV headquarters where landscaping is done … !

Let’s see where we’ll end up … hopefully some place bit MORE peaceful …!

Isn’t there something in Islamabad plan to stop people from burying anywhere they want?

    “Let’s see where we’ll end up … ”

    ….planning *well* ahead? :)

Its not that people come and bury their loved ones right next to the roads.

You must realize that prior to islamabad being islamabad, the entireplace was just a rural outpost…and still islamabad is expanding…taking in land from surrounding neighbouring villages etc…
and hence these graves end up next to road and other mentioned places.

The decent thing to do would be to with the help of the relatives, if they are known or can be located…to relocate these graves to a new planned and designated graveyard.

Im sure many grvaes which have no WAALI-WAARIS i.e . are anonymous graves with no one looking after them get razed during the execution of development projects etc.

    any way…

Mu: Well its not that they are buried now – Islamabad do have graveyards – some newer ones are in making too … as per my plannings – I’ve already planed dont you worry :P

Momers: I truly agree with u and I guess this relocation of graves is a very nice suggestion – If the authorities get them too …:>
