Go PIMS Tower

icrc.gifIn my earlier post I discussed about the PIMS Tower update. Well word has it now that Prime Minister is going to lay the foundation stone of the 16 storey medical tower on Monday 22 January (Today). The tower would be completed in a time of 3 years with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.3 billion. Let’s hope this is a significant step towards improvement of health facilities in Islamabad

There is going to be at least one, may be two, for Karachi. They were approved at the same time as ISB’s.

Don’t Karachi have “enough of presidential suites” in their hospitals mansoor :P

I’d still say (don’t know if said it earlier) management is what the game’s all about – In Lahore – Islamabad only SKMCH is THE hospital with proper care given equally to poor and rich … anyways let’s see what this new PIMS block brings … Best wishes …!

Correction A for [PINE] Apple. In Lahore significant progress is being made in health sector. They have divided patients into three catagories in all public hospitals. Ones who can pay the complete fee, the ones who can pay some part, and finally the ones who cannot pay anything for treatment and medication. You just have to fill a form to specify in which category you fall. They treat you accordingly. Relatives, and patients are served with hot meals sponsered by LG these days, Things have turned around a lot currently. I would suggest someone from the Lahore Metblog should cover on the proceedings in this area, because I am sure over the past years there has been significant progress. Thanks to their prolific Chief Minister.

Progress in Health sector is evident from the new Rescue 1122 service that functions with brand new European ambulances and provides free first-aid and emergency facilities to anyone, anywhere in Lahore…

The medical tower in Karachi will be built in Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre. Will have 13 stories…only one less than Islamabad’s. :)
