Update On Underpasses

In my earlier post, I mentioned about two new mega projects underway in the Capital, that seemed to be in shambles. Things seem to have turned around now. According to a recent update, CDA has finally awarded the contracts for construction of two underpasses at Jinnah Avenue, and China Chowk respectively. Matracon Pakistan won the contract of Rs 820 million of interchange cum underpass at Faisal Avenue, and Jinnah Avenue. The project will be completed in one year. The contract of the second underpass was awarded to a Karachi based Ghulam Rasool and company, which will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 563 million in six months.

Imagine about the new of this city with wider roads and more underpasses. But before that, the citizens would have to bear with the contruction process for a year or so
