Aaaja Meri Gaari may Bheth Jaa
I swear I don’t know but while going up to Pir Sohawa, a wagon, rather a crowded wagon crossed us. And the song that came to my mind ever since (and whenever I see the pic) is one by some singer sung many many years back ….
Aaaja Meri gaari may bheth jaaa
Long drive jayyeien gay
Ful speed jayein gay
Kaheen rukein gay na hum …
Happy Ride Guys … BTW can you see the guy on top posing for the picture – even giving a smile — I was like Dhayaan say bhai, tasveer kay chakar may don’t drop off ….!
Looks like people on the Pir Sohwa road need to be constantly aware of the “all watching eyes” of A for [pine]Apple.
Were you doing this picture show while driving…:P I guess the guy is similing at “Look the lady is driving without both hands”…;)
The road to Pir Sohawa is pretty lively all the way these days… here’s another picture i found in Daily Times today…

1967: Ummm, I wasn’t driving :P
Faraz: Well a certain similar topic pic was in way too :> but this one was really gud – mine wasn’t / thnx for sharing.
It shows where our/government’s priorities lay. Millions can be spent to carpet and illuminate this picturesque road but a diddlysquat goes towards planning and organising a decent public transport on that road or across Islamabad at large for that matter. I don’t think the planned chairlifts will be a good alternative either for commuters from the villages dotting the Margalla, although picnickers will have a fun. Perhaps the governments are too focused on pleasing the noisy, latte-sipping, middle classes, than caring for the masses.
Sorry for my rant.
No Jay Jay these were not absurd rants … I think they do stand true … the worst stae and conditions they have to go thru almost every day in their life … and the chair lifts wud be for picknickers not for daily commuters…!
