Biggest Gambling Den Unearthed in Rawalpindi
The Pothohar Police in a breakthrough have unearthed the biggest ever gambling den in the history of Rawalpindi being run under police protection in Dhoke Charghdin.
The police nabbed 43 people playing different games in the den, connected with various national and international cities and recovered a Rs. 2.23 Million in cash, mobile phones, wrist watches, four vehicles, including a two-wheeler, TV sets, computers, CDs/DVDs and decoder dishes to the tune of Rs. 4.15 Million.
The gaming den was connected to horse race betting fields of Canada, South Africa, and England. The gamblers were from Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Dubai.


The problem cannot be suppressed through enforcement but can be regularised and managed through legalization. Is betting on horses worst than short-selling at a shares market?
The normal cut of governments the worldover from betting and lotteries is health 10 percent - an avenue for raising generous revenue.
