Blue Moon
Yesterday skies saw May’s second full moon. When I first heard the term Blue Moon, I was stuck by a jolt of anticipation that moon is blue too (I was a lil’ kid then :-p just to assure) and then my brother told me the whole blue moon theory :-)
Wiki has a lot much detail to tell on Blue Moon theories. Keeping it short and simple, in each year 12 full lunar cycles occur, leaving 11 days. These extra 11 days accumulate, hence after 2-3 years instead of 12 full moons, 13 full moons can be sighted.
So the blue moon is the 13th one … Nahi samajh aayi?? Forget it!

In 1999, there were two blue moons. One on January 31st (after the full moon on Jan. 2nd) and the other on March 31st (after the full moon on March 2nd).
So the blue moon is 13 and 14 one in one calender year. In simple words “Blue Moon is the second full moon in a calendar month.”
so the term “once in a blue moon” means “once in the second full moon of a calendar month”… hmmmm…. no wonder she never returned :(((
and who is that old lady who runs charkha on the moon?
UBD I guess that’s the easy way to say this :-)
Faraz lol – yup it kind of means exactly that … she must be dead by now coz of vacuum – maybe in her time there was oxygen, in ours time, O2 is rare to find even on earth :>
i dont think she is dead. she probably just moved to another planet (pluto i think) when she realised that we the earthlings didn’t really care.
i think somewhere down the years, we just stopped looking.
