We’ve our shares of Load management too

Since last few years, somehow, Islamabad emerged as a city surviving without and load shedding to its credit. With all the country, literally boiling off in summers, Islooites can cool off the heat with fans and ACs. But that is a misconception at large. Still many areas in Islamabad face the heat severity with no electricity … as the case below depicts.Specially May and June is the worst season with exam season at its peak, load shedding is not only a major annoyance but a hurdle as well. Dams banayein khudaraa

As, I was going through archives of Lahore metroblog, I found this really interesting post on Load shedding by Darwaish stating the image below as prime reason for no bijli :-)

AAAAAWWWWWW!!!! Poor fellow, reminds me of my university days in the mid 90s.Lahore was flooded due to worst rains in decades, some saying result of God’s wrath as hundreds of chicklets, released by protesting poultry farmers, got crushed under vehicles tyres.I spent the whole night preparing for my papers in candle light(we were quite poor then, couldn’t afford those fancy emergency rechargable lamps). What a relieving sight it was when we(day scholars) reached the university and saw Hostelites swimming in muddy waters, gathering their floating belongings and being evacuated on university bus tops. The “cancellation of paper” notice was celebrated by a big hurrah among day scholars since we were always late in recieving campus news. The nerds murmuring at wasting of their preparation were hushed by threats of dire consequences by BHAILOG.I also made a pledge then to study throughout the year instead of just in prep leaves.
These days it’s same hot as hell and load shedding in Lahore and people are cursing and pointing all sorts of vices with the administration and systems. This is our fate i think as someone was saying that situation will continue like this till year 2010 as the big power projects starts giving input and by that time we’ll get used to this :-).Happy summers my fellow countrymen
