One-Wheelers – Thrill or Invitation to Doom?

One wheeling Thrill

At night, roads of Islamabad buzz-up with sounds of one-wheeling. Though this is a day capture where the youth, oblivious of dangers, tries his hands on pulling the bike up; mocking at the face of Life (and authorities).

How do you see these adventures in life?? Have you ever done so?? If you get a chance of one-wheeling on a bike or zig-zagging the path on a car – would you be a part of it??

Every nation, race and creed have a very small percentage of these daring individuals who have the courage to push the limits of human endeavour. The wiser nations have recognized the existence of these special individuals and have created for them avenues such as sky diving, under sea esxplorations, adventure sports such as surfing, mountain skeing, free falling and what not. They are using their talents to make new discoveries. Unfortunately, in a country like ours this special breed of dare devils has no option but seek thrill on public roads which sometimes proves fatal for them as well as others.

To condemn and critisize them is very easy but to recognize their talents and give them a proper outlet to express themselves is much more difficult.

    Dear Kami,

I doubt it has much to do with the lack of available opportunities to try their hand at such feats. These people usually get a thrill from inconveniencing others and trying to show off. Putting your own life at risk can be thrilling, but doing so at the expense of others is inexcusable.

Even if they can’t afford more expensive sports (such as skydiving), they have the option of doing such stunts in less crowded/off-road areas.

@SAJJAD, you said it yourself, there is a desire to show-off, like Artists they also want to show off their work. Ofcourse, society cannot endorse such reckless behavior on public roads but, on the other hand it should provide outlets for expression and a means for appreciation.
