Citizens are getting used to the on-going situation!
Today at 8:00 am I received a text message from one of my friends to go back home, I was heading towards Rawalpindi, as there was a bomb blast somewhere in Sadar.
At that time I was on Rawal road, a link road between Murree road and Airport road. The traffic was flowing towards Pindi in a normal way and somebody, like me who was on road long before the news came up on television, would not believe to something like that.
Somebody would have had doubts if there were any ambulance’s sirens and police tropes on the roads, while later that day the movement was noticed by the travelers using Murree road. Even then it did not reduce the traffic and people were going to their destinies in a normal routine, as if nothing has happened.
Traffic jam was noticed near Murrer chowk on Murree road and on different intersections on Murree road, but it was not due to the bomb blast but a routine jam at noon.
The area near General Headquarters (GHQ) and “Arrah Bazaar”, Arrah market where the blast took place was quiet devastating, traffic stuck for hours and local people were seen bewildered on the situation.
All shops were open in Rawalpindi, no disturbance has been noticed in flow of customers in the shopping areas, as if it is a part of their life to see such blasts every once in a while.
Now as the time pass by and if the situation remains the same, people soon will get use to the environment and stop bothering about their security. As every person is out there to earn a piece of bread for him or herself and such situations can not keep them in their homes for long.
What is the solution comes to your mind?
Is it that people are no more bothered about the situation or is it that they are getting use to it?
