    Karakoram Highway for sure…

while its 84kms ahead of Sust, i would have to say its probably somewhere in china. Not too sure abt this route but it may very well be somewhere close to the city of Kashghar?

    wild guess… :)

Let’s see, it says it in English, Chinese and Russian but not in Urdu. Its gotta be somewhere in Pakistan. Which other nation is in so much complex about their language.

I think it is cool that it says in russian, english, chinese. It shows how close we actually are from central Asia. People around the world keep confusing us being close to loser hindustan.

I think its china as SUST is 84 Km which is the last city of Pakistan towards Pak-China border, if travelling through khunjerab pass.
This might be near Pirali which is the first city of China if travelling on Karakoram highway.
I went to Khunjerab Pass Pak-China border in 2002, can realize the background in the given picture.

Kunjarab Pass @ Pak-China border. It is the highest paved border crossing in the world.

    Kunjirap, Xinjiang, China

Islamabad is 887 KM from Khunjerab Top. This picture was taken in Khunjerab National Park, 27 Km from Khunjerab Border towards Sost.
But Mr. Gulzar is a little mistaken. This is not taken in Chinese Land. This is Pakistani Land.

    that place is in china

  17. Opee (unregistered) on September 4th, 2007 @ 5:08 pm

Kashif, it has already been answered. See HZQ’s comment: (Haroon Zaka Qureshi took this pic himself), explaining where pic was actually shooted.

I hope this should clear any ambiguities.
