The Quake (8/10/05 – 08:50:38): Remembered

We have come two years ahead of the EQ2005 tragedy. The 5-6 minutes span was enough to drench the life out of Pakistan and then the adrenalin rushed back in every Pakistani’s body for next 5-6 months. October and November of 2005 specially would never be forgotten by many of us, who experienced the jolts of quake.

Let’s pray for the departed souls, May Allah bless them with Maghfirah and Peace in Jannah; and for the affectees who lost limbs, families, homes, businesses, and lot more we’d never be able to even comprehend, May Allah’s blessings be with them (Ameen).

I’ve said this various times before and I ponder again. Is a tragedy needed by Pakistanis to unite?? We showed the spirit then, why can’t we live with it??

Peace!

Yes, we need a tragedy to unite. EQ 2005 wasn’t capitalized by our leaders to unite the nation, so now wait for another incident.

    WK says:”Remember that Night:”

It was not night but a bright morning.

WK further says: “When Allah showed his anger, it was an live example for those who do sins in the darkness of night.”

I wonder what sins were committed by inncocent children who parished during the jolts. Thousands of children died in Balakot, Mahsehra, Muzaffarabad and Bagh, when the roofs of their schools collapsed on them.

I also wonder what sins were committed by the poorest of the poor living in the affected area
“in the darkness of night” that they had to suffer.

I also wonder why God’s anger was manifested at a particlaur population, not on the sinner living in other parts of the world.

I also wonder why there was no distinction made by God between the young and old, the weak and the strong, the man and the woman, in making them a prey of his/her “anger”. Surely God cannot be unjust or cruel.

Earthquakes, like other natural phenomena, happen because of physical laws governing the nature. They are not result of punishment or anger or due to an intevention by unseen.

    @ WK
“May Allah save us all from evil, including Mushu non Islamic Govt Ideas…”

Please don’t drag politics in to a matter of natural calamity! There are several other threads for that.

yes it was a lesson from almighty to not trouble kashmiri hindus and india over kashmir. What you killed hindus in about 16 yrs, one earthquake did the same to you.

ps: for sarcasm impaired, it is a sarcastic post
to those who think allah exist and is responsible for everything.

    ameen!
What happened to good old jannat and maghfarat? What is this “jannah” and “maghfarah”? We are Pakistanis, not Arabs. Please lets be proud of our own language and identity.

Jahanara – you are spot on.

we don’t have to out-do arabs to be muslims. let our islam be pakistani islam, easy, peaceful and tolerant.
