Interim Government; A New Beginning

At last in few minutes time the assemblies will be dissolved and Interim Government will take over. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, any government has completed its tenure. (Successfully or HOW, that I won’t debate on that). At 12 am (16 November 2007), the government of Shaukat Aziz is coming to an end. He’ll be competing from two different in constituencies the elections.

President(read General) Musharraf has named Senate’s chairman, Mohmmadmian Soomro, as the caretaker prime minister to conduct coming up elections. He and his cabinet will take oaths tomorrow morning at around 10:30 am according to our very favorite Sheikh Rasheed :-)

The new cabinet may have 15-20 ministers; given these few: Nisar Memon (Information), Hamid Nawaz (Foreign Affairs), Gen (rtd) Nasim Rana (Defence), Salman Taseer (Trade).

PM, Ex PM Shaukat Aziz, along with his wife, addresses as he leaves the office of Prime Minister tonight.

Our Sister blog, KMB, blogged about his demand of mercedes an year back … read through this post.

I welcome the New Faces on PTV (with my remote control in one hand and tea in other)

Very well done Shaukat Aziz , You have put the nation on the right track, there were mistakes made (which you admit) but over all a JOB WELL DONE.

Uh? I googled “Economic Hitman” and the first 50 entries are about “Confessions of an Economic Hitman” by John Perkins. I also saw the repeated attempts by an unregistered user with IP 134.34.16.25 to add the phrase “Economic Hitman” to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaukat_Aziz , leading to the “Editing of this article by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled until November 17, 2007 (UTC) due to vandalism” notice.

Google bombing (1) works, but only for a few days.

Google bombing (1) works, but only for a few days and attempts to twiddle a Wikipedia entry for a political agenda are even more short-lived. Both are as childish and counterproductive as the government’s recent attempts to block access to the sites of Geo News, The News, Human Rights Commission Pakistan with Distributed Denial Of Service attacks.

Constitution is the b***ch of our present rulers. Now it seems, that the constitution would be amended so that the interm PM also gets to keep the senate’s chair. Why have a consititution in the first place if it’s always going to be twisted to benefit just one or two people. What a country! http://daily.urdupoint.com/todayNewsLive.php?news_id=49273&featured=1&cat_id=2
