That road is only useful, till the time blue area main crossing is built. If you travel above 70km/hr , see how your car shakes and if you have an old FX or alto see what comes out when you reach home. Hope you have experienced the bumpy ride on that road.

Yup, its installed by road side, on the road joining service road with 7th Ave, so you can see it before you get your foot on the road, unless you are a little ahead on the (to-be) green belt.

But it doesn’t mean that nobody crosses the road :)

BTW, the poor pedestrians would be able to see the WARNING while crossing or is it installed so that they can never make a move??

Bro, it doesn’t matter if the decision was made earlier or recently. From strategic point of view, its a lose point. Do you remember those instructions given when you are about to leave for a long journey, never keep all your money in one place, keep it distributed. Never keep all your documents in one place, keep them distributed. Got my point?

And phil, the overhead bridges may look ugly, but at times everything is not about beautification. Usability comes first. If I’ve no means of transportation at all and I’ve to go to my office from G-6 towards G-7, why should I take a much much longer route (not to neglect the cost overhead)?? It was just a matter of crossing green belt few months back. Think like this !!

The Islamabad Citizen’s Association, I think thats what’s called, made a noise about the mini-golf in Jinnah, and now the McDonalds in the FJ Park. I guess this land, E-10 (Army HQ), was already ear marked for the three HQ’s long since the inception of the city design – hence no one made much racket. Correct me if I am wrong…

Either ways, the land in Golra, D-12, E-12, F-12 is up for sale and the rates are steadily rising from a stable low price. I think it’s time to invest there, if one has the wish to get land ‘near’ the mountains. Tell us if you do so :P

Its quite strange that our strategic-policy makers are over looking such simple observations.

I agree with Brother Talha.

The usefulness of these roads will be realized when they are completed, and when the newer Islamabad starts populating – the one they are developing down south.

The overhead bridges for pedestrians will look ugly. I believe the footpaths lining the roads are just fine.

Nice catch, shaibee. It’s a clear disclaimer that the city authorities will not be responsible for any ‘jay walking’. Is that too much to ask? :]
