In Pakistan we often see some people like these sitting on their haunches on the road side " waiting for something to happen " as observed by the writer [I forget her name right now--Christie or something like that] of the book Waiting For Allah. So do not fret too much about what they are upto.

Comment on Daudpota’s photostream was based on very frequent news of "Kabza Group" and not necessarily an advice… But the checker board between them and the car simply means they have to play gambit… or else!

i know it’s a corolla, it’s just the way the scene seems poetic, reminding me of a similar scene in ABC. khair cchoro, it’s irrelevant.

jee.. bilkul.. faarigh nahi, they’re extremely hard pressed for time spending all the money they’re making with the excuse of ”inflation”.
i knew it, only the countries under america’s thumb are being dragged down towards the gutter due to america’s economic regression, britain and pakistan. charming! the leaders cant do anything but sit and drink coffee in various hotels around the world, kyunke sab kuch amreeka ke haath mein hain, it’s never been more clearer.

I don’t think these guys are wondering: When will we own a car like this? They know or should know answer to this question which is in negative. They seem to be wondering: Why can’t we own a car like this? The answer to this question is not a simple one.

It’s not a merce or BMW, yes.

But by Pakistani standards, its no less luxurious for a common Pakistani. I’m talk about a Pakistani who is facing difficulties in feeding their families even twice in a day.

1 Mn is no less a money either :)

Huh? But this is just a corolla right? Its not considered a high class vehicle. It is in fact built for economical use. Toyota makes "Camrey" even that is not high class. Toyota Avalon in considered high class. And over that starts the Luxes brand owned by Toyota.

Secondly! You are better off "without" a car like that… Gas prices will only go up… We need to discuss "Fossil Fuels" & "Alternative Energy" – Electric, Hybrid or Flex Fuel cars is a way to go… Or check out this car SMART FORTWO. Just started selling in America, It looks kinda funny next to my ginormous V8 Monte Carlo SS. But I think thats the way, after all it is a Mercedes.

… and with petrol/diesel prices set to rise again the car really will be a dream.
What makes me angry is the fat-cat refineries and oil ministry making a "killing" literally out of the misery of millions… they still enjoy the 10% subsidy that Shartcut Aziz left them and then theres govt taxes on top…
a swift cut in price can be done right now by cutting taxes on fuel and removing the oil refinery subsidy… why should they be different from our poor farmers ?
