The Dove is Back!

Every morning when I used to enter Islamabad, I was greeted by the symbol of peace, the dove. But for the past many days I was missing seeing the ‘dove’ monument that is situated on Zero Point. It seemed that ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ people had paid a hefty (advertisement) sum to the authorities (or maybe the poor drama people were not involved in this crime), that is why they had placed a big banner ad in front of the poor helpless dove. I didn’t mind the drama being advertised all over the place, but I sure was annoyed at this placement of the ad.

Today was different from the past couple of days. Today when I reached Zero Point and glanced up from my seat to find the same ad shrouding the monument, I was surprised. There was no ad but the same old dove standing tall in its place. It was maybe not a big thing but it truly filled my heart with joy.

So I think it is safe for me to say, “The dove is back!” Hope it remains in its place and the authorities do not blindly (and mercilessly) cover it up again yet for another ad.

    @A for [pine]Apple
    Thanks for the welcome note. :-)

    Yes enjoying it and wondering for how long is it here to stay.

    @Talha Masood
    Thank God you wrote ‘patriotic’ instead of ‘dramatic’. ;-)

    The hawks must already be in the air. I am hoping they would spare the dove for a while longer. :-D

    Ameen. This post was an attempt to write with the spirit ‘Islamabad as I know it and feel about it’. :-)

    Have fun all!

    @ hasanrana on November 10th.

    " Zardari Akhir kar sab pa bhari"

    True!! But for how long?? That’s not a million dollar question. It’s answer is written on a wall for all those to see who can see and read who can read.
    Once upon a time there was a general who was even more bhari than Zardari but where is he now and in what state?????? You can’t fool all the people all the time !!

    Yes you were right about that bakray kee maa thing. :'(
    About Zardari being bhari, i guess our comments also change (basically get up to date) with the changing times and rulers. ;-)

    Don’t know if Zardadi is ‘actually’ in the ad. All i could see was a picture of some injured man on the left side and the photo of BB on the right side. Just had an urge to scrutinize that ad some more! :-D hehe

    Well ure right we do love talking about him and then Dove was transformed into BB picture. Doesnt matter if its BB now all i want is peace in the country even if wants to have every nook corner with BB written on it.

    When Zardari was becomming the president every one could see that but in my heart i was sure pakistan will have time of its life this time but in the end General(r) Mushraff held the highest office in Pakistan and Zaradari is holding it. Our thoughts just remain on this blog… :(
