And the long walks along Margalla Road,spotting herds of piggies on the other side; the perfectly 'Graded' sectors, the mid rib of Jinnah Avenue differentiating F from G; the marble-gray, cold & still mornings when you wake up to the distant, muffled sound of a moving vehicle and chirping birds; where the unit of distance is minutes and not km's............ and when you see more guards in the streets than the residents; you just know you are in Islamabad, the beautiful.

@ Fahim

Sad to hear of the incident. Hats off to your mother who stopped to help the child as well as the helpless creature. Do salute her on my behalf. (She might think you have turned into a good son *giggles*).

Yes it is unfortunate that nobody is ready to take a little time out to help someone. Whether it is on the roads or elsewhere.

@sceptic

If i was driving, i would have stopped, definitely.

@kabirdas

You have presented an interesting point. It did make me wonder if i can make a connection to this. And i came up with the conclusion that you are very much right. Majority of human beings do operate on this principle.

@ sceptic on January 16th, 2009

I would have if somehow I could relate to that poor child.
I wouldn't have if couldn't relate to him in any way.

Think about it and you will find, sad though it is, it is as simple as that.

If this post were about Lahore and you were living there, this post would have been a lot longer and nastier. I found Islamabad a very peaceful place and yes, I did notice that people here are more indifferent.
