While the official death toll is about 80 k, people speculate about a hundred thousand casualties happened that day.

Living in Islamabad, it seemed a big thing but not that big a thing.

I still remember I came back from office early in the morning to sleep and then waking up at about 9 am ( I had a night duty that day ) due to the earthquake. Islamabad only suffered the collapse of the Margallah Towers. It wasn’t until sometime in the afternoon that it was partially revealed as of what a ruinous disaster has hit the country.

I lost a few close relatives myself.

Like they say – time doesn’t stand still.

I salute all those who helped the reconstruction, and who moved forth with a positive attitude helping Pakistan getting out of the hard times.

I salute you all…

I went over to Putrajaya for a visit and there performed the maghrib prayers in a spectacular mosque that is the next building to the Prime minister’s secretriate (Yeah, they shifted capital some days ago).

No one stopped us. Some months back in time, we used to have the same level of comfort in my lovely Islamabad. Then and there I prayed both for my spectacular Islamabad and Putrajaya!

Baitullah Masud’s comments are coming out in the mainstream media that they will reach Islamabad. Stuff like two attacks per week till drone attacks aren’t finished. I am getting sms that stay away from F-8 markaz for some days because there are rumors of suicide attack there. And well, I go there for gym almost daily. There was a suicide attack in my street recently that unfortunately killed some people.

Well, how do you feel about the new wave of terror that has hit our beloved, once peaceful – Islamabad!

Apart from being adding ugliness to the area I have my reservations for this step.

In case if this was a pro-active measure of our Government to provide security to the embassy, I believe a better solution would have been to shift them to the diplomatic enclave. In case this was reactive, I have the same suggestion.

I mean seriously, grotesque is an understatement.
