Yesterday night I was taking olives out of the olive jar from my fridge when this short story came to my mind.

A monkey-trap.

Trapper puts hazelnuts in a jar with a top just big enough for the monkey to slip a hand into. The monkey puts his hand in it and gets a big handful. But now his hand is too big to get out of the jar. He can get away anytime he is willing to leave the nuts, but he cannot bring himself to let go. He will stay stuck there, chattering and shouting, and the trapper can pick him up at his leisure.

Then I thought of the current political situation of Pakistan, and then thought that maybe we - the citizens of Pakistan - have been playing the monkey at the hands of a very few while being in the delusion of being a Pure Patriotic Protagonist (pun intended).

I hope - I just hope that I am wrong…

Sit belt the Seat belts…

Ok, one of the best thing that the traffic police in Islamabad has done lately is to put a fine on drivers not wearing seat-belts.

Being a big seat belt fan (it has saved my life in near fatal accidents, twice), I would recommend putting on the belt BEFORE starting the car, not after.

Broken Bond…

PML(N) and PPP coalition is now officially broken. The alliance that formed a major energy source that led stepping down of Musharraf as the President of Pakistan is now no more. Zardari is not in favor of getting the deposed/ disposed Judges back and Nawaz Sharif REALLY wanted the Judges to be back.

Economy is becoming slightly better (KESC) and the price of Gas will now be 44 Rs per kg. I wonder what will happen of the electricity issues.

Now that the political situation is entering another turmoil, what are your predictions - reader, dear reader?

Does a Broken Bond mean a Broken Promise?

In that case, can we really trust any of them - the leaders.

So speak out, readers - future leaders!!!

Medicines @ night…

I needed some anti-allergy for a relative at 3:30 am yesterday and I found that there was no medicine shop open at that time.

The only chemist shop that I could find at that time was the chemist shop in Ali Medical Center at F-8 Markaz.

So, God forbid if you need medicines in emergency at that time, Ali medical center is the place to go…
