A Display or/of Laziness??

Any hints on what this tank is doing on G.T. Road?

May be we have too many to spare for such displays? or may be our junk yard, which is quite nearby, is too small to keep this in? Please don’t tell me that this is some kind of a monument.

You are coming from Taxila to Islamabad and a little before Islamabad/Motorway turning, there you go with this somewhat lousy display of our Armed Force.

may be its not maintained well but Armed forces are not to blame – and there’s no point of extra – this machine is proving some point which refer back to HIT.

han ! you can curse on CDA, NHA or any other local body who were unable to maintain it.

Maybe somebody’s living in it. It would make such a cool clubhouse.

This is an M4 Sherman tank. It was prodcued by Americans in World War II. It was used by Pakistan in 1965 and 1971.

You can also find an old F-6 Aircraft in Westrige (near Charing Cross). Another tank on the same road is there at HIT Bypass. You ll find couple of guns on Mall Road near race cource ground. Go to Lahore and you ll find many more Are they all Monuments? And even if you plan to see more… visit Wah cantt. Not to mention army museums.

I believe that such things should not be visible to young generation as when they see bombs, missiles and tanks every where then sub consciously they think about war and violence…

Due to such reasons..Army’s activities and Army’s camps are generally built outside and away from Civil areas of a country…

Army’s activities should only be visible during war and every body knows that war time is not a pleasant time..

@environmentalist: we shud tell the younger generation to be brave rather than being coward and yell peace peace! when enemy is shedding bombs on us.
I dont think we shud remove such monuments. They look cool
