"Terrorism is peculiar. And it is based in the NWFP. It determines Pakistan’s image, its outreach in the world, its economy, its very existence as a viable entity and the security of the region and beyond.

"If my drift is not clear yet, let me spell it out: the next prime minister should be from the NWFP. The man who fits the bill is Asfandyar Wali Khan. He has not really covered himself in glory by nominating his nephew as NWFP chief minister but he is still the best candidate because he is Pashtun and is secular.

"With his party in the driver’s seat in the NWFP, there will be the necessary harmony between Islamabad and Peshawar on any policy dealing with terrorism. The decision will be seen by the people and all other parties as being the most concrete step towards national consensus and a move away from the petty politicking that has always plagued Pakistan. It will also save the PPP from internal rifts and tremendously enhance the party’s stock.

"If the current political bonhomie and rhetoric is anything to go by, the parties should be working towards entrenching democratic principles and institutions. This means investment for long-term gains."

MAF KERNA YAAR, but I’d vote for MAF (Makhdoom Amin Fahim), just cause he is a newer face. What is wrong with our people? who would vote for Mr.10% who is now going to be Mr.100%.

do do teen teen dafa bhi in logon se mulk ko lutwane ke bawajood bhi uqal nahee ayee hum ko. Indeed we r super idiots.

I will opt for new faces but for wheeling and dealing and political match making it won’t hurt to have an insider to run the country for a while until he is thrown out..
We are so used to starting fresh!
