Deadly Blast in My Office ( UN-WFP)

Blast Inside World Food Programme Office in Islamabad - Courtesy AP

I am shaken and traumatized after the yesterday’s blast which took place inside my office building ( UN-WFP) only a few paces away from my glass-cabin . The blast was so sudden and strong that it took me sometime to register what actually had happened there with all of us. It was so strong that I was thrown from my chair to a few feet away on the floor. Everything was shattered into pieces only in a matter of seconds. When I tried getting up from the floor, I had broken wooden pieces in my hair, my head and body were aching badly as something had hit me severely. I was not in my senses and my whole body was shaking badly, the sound of the deadly blast was resonating in my ears and I was so shocked that I could not move a step. There were injured colleagues lying on the floor. My room was on fire and pieces of paper, broken pieces of doors, broken pieces of my glass cabin, windows and tables were lying here and there. I was looking at my injured colleagues in a state of shock and horror. “Vacate the building immediately”, I heard one of my colleagues saying. But I could not move till the time one of my colleague dragged me outside the building. But that was not the end of it.

The real horror started when my colleagues started taking the dead and injured bodies outside the building. Yes, bodies drenched in blood of people I worked and used to spent a major part of my day on regular basis… It was such a heartbreaking scene……We had tears in ours eyes. We were horrified and traumatized …

None of us in the office had ever imagined that this Bloody Monday will change our lives for ever and we will be left with haunted memories of the incident. I have not recovered from the shock yet, the whole scene is playing back again and again in my brain, even the sedative pills failed to calm down my nerves. None of my other colleagues are out of trauma yet. Those innocent souls who died in the blast would never be there in our office again and our office would never be the same place again….. I pray for all the departed souls ( Gul, Farzana, Wahab, Abid Rehman and Udan ) and I am going to miss them forever …..My mother says that it is a miracle that I have only minor injuries and I survived despite the fact that the bomb blasted only a few paces away from where I sit But I am thinking why this miracle did not happen in case of Gul, Farzana, Wahab, Abid Rehman and Udan. Why these innocent people lost their lives?? What will become of their families now?? What was their fault or What was our fault that all of us became victims of a bomb blast and are left with haunted memories ??

    My deepest sympathies..

But let’s not support these terrorists ever in any form from now. People like Imran Khan, Jamaat Islami and Deobandi Mullahs who openly show sympathies and even support for these Taliabn terrorists. This amounts to treason against people of Pakistan. We must condemn such so called political leaders as well.

cowardly & vicious act!! killing innocent & crumbling the efforts of people helping the land ….. ?

for God sake get an education here; understand difference between right and wrong. LEARN ISLAM; do not listen to pseudo talibans–they are enemies of islam & our nation. It’s a shame for us muslims that we failed to give respect to our religion & of our fellow religions.

i love my people & will defend them.
    prayers for departed souls.

CDA had warned this office to move to the safer diplomatic enclave for a long time. These UN offices are a nuisance to the public, and the people working there are under constant threat. I hope the other UN offices will take immediate action now.

I am really sorry to hear about your pain, Rehmat. If you don’t mind me asking, was it really a suicide bomber or was it a planted device?

May the lord give you strength, and may he destroy this menace of ‘taliban’ and all the enemies of Islam.

I am deeply saddened to hear of your experience. I live just a few streets away, a colleague of mine was training in a house next to your office. He described the scene. May God have mercy on the departed souls and give those who survived the strength to live through this trauma. I don’t understand what our enemy hopes to achieve by killing innocent people but surely they are not humane. Inshallah.

Pak army, is the most powerful institution & the main base of integrity & security of Pakistan. So the international rouges are engaged to crush directly or indirectly Pak army & its wing ISI, which proved its dedication & capacity in Afganistan by defeating super, power USSR.
After being part of crusade war by Parwaz Mushraf, anti Pak elements including USA divert the attention of Tehreek Talban Pakistan & other anti USA elements towards Pakistan. All those anti Islam & anti Pak forces in first stage create misunderstanding between army & militant groups & then pressurize for Lal Masjid operation for fulfilling their agenda via inside some militant groups like Pak Talban & others.
As being a human activist my practical observation is that, it is tragedy with non state religious/freedom,/terrorist groups, as observed in Afganistan,Kashmir,Sri Lanaka,Iraq,Somalya,Dafur,Pakistan………..that after achieving power some groups being in limited circles with little knowledge treat themselves most powerful than any, resulting utilize more efforts in power game or to curb their own population. Following are the open examples regarding these facts.
    1. Innocent killing in the name of SHREA by Pak Talban, which is religious & moral crime.
    2. Tamil tigers were involve in massacre of civil population especially Muslims
    3. Talban after demolishing statue of Lord Buddha violates religious as well as international laws, resulting was isolated.
    4. Sick freedom fighters also target civilian population
    5. Iraq fighters engage themselves in sectarian war
    6. After peace agreement in Swat via sincere efforts by Sofi Muhammad & NWFP Govt , Talban violate this treaty & thus provide chance to army for operation.
    7. Limited group clashes in past, many groups & leaders with different agendas in Indian occupied Kashmir
So this baseless pride leads them to destruction, instead to gain the sympathy of public ,locals treat them as part of problem. Killing respected dignities for becoming lords & eliminating other common people after labeling as traitor creates gap between local population & militant groups. Even they don’t spare their colleges, if anyone dares to set right the system.(For details Plz go through my booklet in Urdu AHDAF DOOR KOU?). Some their leaders utilize blood of their nation for their self interests in various shapes. In short when groups launched in the name of religion, don’t obey their religion & those groups claim as freedom fighters don’t practice moral values, resulting the failure of majority of non state militant operation throughout the World.
Hamas,HisbullAllah,Kashmiri, Chechan,Iresh & Afgan Talban………are involve in legal struggle against foreign aggression, in case if they continue to follow religious & moral values will be in position to achieve their goal.
The reason behind providing free hand by PPP including MLN to Pak army for Waziristan operation, instead to avoid bloodshed via peaceful means, is itself with so many quarries for both main political parties, who claiming champion of peace & democracy. This free hand is to create gap between patriot tribes & army. Also after showing concerns by Pak army for Loger bill, Zardare & company giving free hand to army for operation in bad intention to push them for heavy loss & to avoid any type of hurdles by army for anti Pak issues like presence of Marians, Loger bill,……..
But to defeat non state elements is an easy task for dedicated bold Pak army, who is always ready for sacrifice their lives to defend Pak land. So after success in Waziristan it will be more difficult for PPP to precede the anti Pak agenda against Pak army directly or indirectly via bills like Loger or can say beggar bill .
Pak army should also reminder the sacrifices of tribes for Pak state,Kashmir & the agenda of all types of anti Pak & sectarian elements. Need of the time is to take positive steps like message for tribes from army chief, which can built trust for army in Waziristan. If this war against Pak Talban prolong, then it can provide chance to anti Pak elements to practice their ill agenda directly. Also pak army itself should initiate peace process with moderate Pak Talban to keep room for relationship with Afghan Talban. Also Policy makers of Pakistan should frame the strategy for future, as soon or later Talban will be in position to defeat USA & its allies, who presently do control maximum area of Afghanistan.
